Places to Enjoy Nightlife in Jeju, South Korea

South Koreans may study and work some of the longest hours in the world, but they know how to play hard, too. As a result, Seoul has one of the most dynamic nightlife places in Asia, making it an ideal destination for party animals and night owls…if they can keep up with the locals, that is.

There are several places in Jeju Island to enjoy the local nightlife, including Seogwipo, Donsadon, B.Turn, Magpie Jeju Bar, and many others. To help you decide where to go, we’ve listed some of the most popular areas and their nightlife offerings below.

 

Seogwipo

Seogwipo is the second-largest city in Jeju Island, Seogwipo is a laid-back destination with a cosmopolitan vibe. The city is located along the coast and is an ideal base to explore the many natural attractions in Jeju. It offers affordable hotels and cosy cafes and restaurants. The city has an abundance of greenery and a calming atmosphere, which makes it the perfect place to spend the night.

The main nightlife in Seogwipo can be found in some of the luxury hotels in the Jungmun resort complex. The Shilla Hotel’s Ollae Library Bar is a popular spot with jazz music. The Shilla Hotel’s lobby lounge is also a popular spot for people-watching. For a more lively experience, head to the J3 Karaoke Bar. Hyatt Regency’s Island Lounge is also a popular nightclub where you can try mixed cocktails.

 

Donsadon

If you want to enjoy Donsadon’s nightlife, there are many places to go. You can visit the popular Magpie Brewery and Company, where you can enjoy a variety of local craft beer. Magpie also has outdoor seating, as well as free wifi.

Donsadon is the biggest permanent market on Jeju and it is also home to a night market that serves local specialties. You can also shop at Chilsungro Shopping Street, which is like the Myeongdong of Jeju.

 

B.Turn

If you want to experience Jeju’s nightlife, B.Turn is a great place to go. With a huge selection of bottled beers, spirits, and other beverages, this bar will satisfy your thirst. It has a variety of locations around Jeju Island, including one in Yeondong with a large outdoor patio. The Jeju City Hall branch is also worth checking out.

This huge venue offers great dance floor with an open roof, a great bar area. It opens at 7:00 PM and stays open until the early morning hours. The dance floor is filled with a young crowd.

 

Magpie Jeju Bar

The Magpie Jeju Bar offers beer lovers the chance to drink craft beer from local brewers. Though this beer is currently available in 30/40 locations around Jeju, the brewery has a large presence in mainland Korea. As of now, they have sold beer in Seoul and are set to expand their distribution to other regions in Korea.

In addition to its beers, Magpie also offers a beer tour. Visitors can enjoy a free draft beer as they tour the brewery and sample several brews. The tour will also provide a chance to taste the different malts and hops used in the creation of the beer.

 

Cityhall Area

There are several different options for nightlife in the Cityhall Area of Jeju. You’ll find a variety of bars, pubs, and clubs on the island. Jungmun, for example, has several popular bars, including the ShinHua Resort’s Pub, Banging Tacos, and Hola. Other places to visit include The Smoke House, CU, and GS25.

The most dependable nightclub in the Cityhall Area is “The Factory.” This club has an open mike night every Wednesday, which draws in performers from around the island. Another good option is “Indie,” a popular venue that focuses on local acts. Finally, if you’re looking for a more hip and funky night, try “Space Marley” in the Jungang-ro shopping area.

 

Tapdong-ro

If you’re looking for a lively nightlife experience, the city of Tapdong-ro has many options. For example, the city’s famous “The Factory” bar has an energetic live music scene. The bar is based on the artist Andy Warhol’s former studio and is adorned with a Warhol banana image at its entrance.

The city also has a number of casinos. Most of them are open to visitors 24 hours a day, so you’re sure to find a casino that’s open and operating. In addition, most of these establishments have free wireless internet and saunas. There’s also a good selection of restaurants and bars to choose from, whether you’re looking for Korean cuisine or international favorites.
