HGTV’s “Home Town” presenter Erin Napier is a woman with multiple talents. Each week on the show, she surprises viewers with her exceptional designing skills to create comfortable and cozy interiors. This time, she is making waves on the online platform with her musical performance.
Recently, Napier’s video highlighting her music talent has resurfaced on the internet. House Beautiful magazine reported the rare footage of the HGTV star from over a decade ago, in which she is singing “Bobby McGee.”
Reportedly, the above-mentioned video was initially shared in February 2011, where Erin could be seen with her red electric guitar while playing some songs at City Centre Crepes & Coffeehouse in Downtown Laurel.
Before leaving the set, the mother-of-two decided to sing a song which she remarked was, “People always ask me to play.” The tune of select: Janis Joplin’s version of “Bobby McGee,” which was originally written by Kris Kristofferson.

The Internet user who uploaded Napier’s performing video also had footage of the interior designer from other Laurel programs from about this same time. She has covered songs on Jewel’s “Who Will Save Your Soul,” Sara Bareilles’ “Many the Miles,” and Outkast’s “Hey Ya.”
Ahead of her Sara Bareilles performance, Eric talked about her musical background, telling her well-wishers that she used to play music all the time during her teenage days (14 or 15 years old) and she learned guitar from Shane.
In Erin’s words, “I used to do this all the time when I was 14 or 15 and Shane was my guitar teacher and I played here a lot so this is kind of weird doing it again.”
On 24 August 2021, Napier shared in her Instagram post that she used to be a member of a band named Sunday’s Maria, during her high school days. She also uploaded a series of throwback photographs of herself performing with the band and revealed she used to make her gas money by playing at coffee shops.
Her caption read, “In high school, I had a band called Sunday’s Maria (an homage to Maria from all those [Counting Crows Song], and we played a lot of Blind Melon and Alanis Morrissette and Ani DiFranco and Barenaked Ladies cover songs.”

Although Erin’s professional line is now into designing, she still has a passion for music, and often her videos of performing keeps trending on social media. Her husband, Ben Napier, has full support for her musical interest.
In an early 2020 episode of HomeTown, the Napier couple was seen helping Mike and Gleen Alabama to become acquainted with the neighborhood.
They took the Alabama couple to a nearby cafe for an open mic night, where Erin agreed for a shot with long-time collector and guitarist, Mike.
After a while, Eric walked up on stage and sang “Amazing Grace,” rocking a navy blue guitar; she was supported by Mike as he strums in the background.
While the 37-year-old host appears quite shy about her guitar skills and her beautiful vocals, HGTV viewers love to see her delightful performance time and again on the show. Nevertheless, she has a YouTube channel with 17.3K subscribers, where one can watch her playing guitar.
